Hi Eldred:
Nobody can blame you. I've spent the morning chatting
with RC and Mike P. at F1RST, about setting up the registry
and one F1RST window that won't display right. Nice folks,
but not what I had planned for Sunday morning.
I ran their registry fix, and now have only a minor
problem on one F1RST's window. But I couldn't not have
raced you folks today, because I couldn't select a profile.
I can host 5 cars reasonably well on my old 600MHz dog.
So I think someone with 5 times the compute horsepower and
a good cable connection will be able to handle the small
turnouts. But there was something nice about that fast
connection.
I hope you will participate on F1RST. I didn't get
enough practice for Spain, about 40 laps. I was trying
a Renault, to add some color to the field, and my best
was a 1:31, lapping several seconds slower. I have zero
audible feedback from the tires as they approach their
limit, so I'm not able to push hard in the turns. Still
waiting for a copy of the GTR 2002 tire sound file. I'm
If I have someone to race against I'll be there, but
I don't have to tell you it's no fun racing by yourself,
with only drivers 10 seconds faster lapping you for
company. So I hope you continue to participate.
Yea, you can't do donuts with TC on. There is a
traction control override that you can assign to a
button.
I hope you show up. I'll try to make it next time.
I can have a lot of fun just racing multiplayer on
F1C's Gamespy. But it is nice to race against you
folks on a nice server with a good connection.
