I too have been following these with interest, but seeing as I have been
re-learning GPL with a wheel I haven't felt consistent enough to take
part.  Gradually though I am feeling more confident and would, if the
planets are in the correct alignment, gladly join one of these races in
the not too distant future.

That's why the planets need to be in the correct alignment.  Otherwise
the interplanetary molecular fusion transporter won't get me here in
time.  <BG>

Mind you even with my consistency improving I still haven't mastered
non-speedshifting quite properly yet.  So if the haybales don't get me
the engine probably will.

Eldred, why not schedule a Le Mans Sarthe GP? The track is quite easy
to learn and major fun online! Halle would be nice too, allthough I'm
quite sure none of us would finish a full GP there, those concrete
tires are quite lethal :)

Well, the obvious event beckons: a 24-hour GPL race at Le Mans!

(Let me know how you get on) .... ;-)

Hey, if you could park the car for a while without GPL taking you out of the
game, I'd do it.  I've heard rumors you can park in your pit stall
indefinitely, but I haven't tested it yet.

I can just see you driving for one of the Le Mans teams: "I think I'll park
by the side of the road and have a nap for a while....."  ;-)

Well, since you can't 'trade off' to another driver who's not local, some
people will have to drive by themselves.  I have *enough* problem driving when
I'm well-rested.  I couldn't imagine doing a 24-hour solo...<g>
