The "cheapened" *** instead of leather, but with a shifter and possibly
better pedals Logi and the new "Ferrari"?  They were introduced in the
spring at CES or somewhere, but I have lost track of when they are supposed
to be released.

Thanks,

Marc

This site in Norway has a picture of the new MOMO, and says: "October 31
unconfirmed"

Hmmm...looks like the fantastic metal shift paddles have been replaced by
plastic ones.  That's my only problem with the Guillemot Ferrari wheel--very
cheap shifter paddles.  We also can't see the pedals on the new Logi...

The fact that it is *** rather than leather doesn't bother me, but I wish
we knew something about the internals.  Probably ***like the second
generation regular Logi wheel.

If they could have just put decent pedals and a shifter on the original
Momo, I would buy it--even at double the price of the new one!

I have no details on the new TM Ferrari wheel, but based on experience, they
will manage to***up at least one major component on that one, too.

FYI - If you're interested, you can buy a reconditioned leather Momo at
Overstock.Com for $110.95.  That might leave you some change for extra
pedals and a shifter...

Everyone is selling off the Momo's in my community (Toronto), but I really
don't want the hassle of having to do special configurations for every game
to accommodate separate pedal and shifter...not to mention the cost of
those!

The fact that it and the TM Ferrari are on sell-off everywhere is what
reminded me the new ones are likely coming out soon.

I have a line in to Guillmont/TM.  I'll post on the forum when the new
Ferrari wheel is released.

Forgot to mention it earlier - fwiw, there's a decent preview of the TM
wheel at

http://www.drivingitalia.com/articoli.php3?id=4987

You'll have to babelfish for the text unless your Italian's better than
mine, but there are some good hi-res pics.

If the Logi pedals are improved, it'll be a first.

Frankly, their 'no parts provided' policy that I keep hearing about has
ended their sales to me.

So I was right...it looks great, but has no shifter.

They are competing with last year's Logitech!!!!

The other Steve just provided an Italian link, but it looks like a loser to
me because it has no traditional shifter.

The new F1 wheel is on the TM site but not listed in the online store.
I read somehwere (maybe there) that it will be released in September.
