They should make it an option (GPL), but they would have to put the information
on the wheel somewhere else. They better not put it at the top of the screen,
hovering over the sky. That would make it an arcade, for sure... ;^)

Especially ironic since Monaco was the most undrivable track in GP2 due
to the FPS demands of all that scenery.

It wasn't until very late in the life of GP2 where I actually had the CPU
horsepower to drive Monaco without dealing with 100% processor occupancy
or having to drive it with graphics that looked like F1GP1.

Lets hope GP3 works better on the average PC Platform when released than it's
predecessor did.

I want to be able to drive Monaco right from day 1 :-)

Personally I like the wheel onscreen as in GPL, when it wiggles it helps
me to see that the front tires are at the limit of adhesion, when it's
turned and my wheel is straight up, it tells me that I've damaged my front
suspension/steering.

If anything make the visible wheel a toggle in the prefs.

:  No, not complaining, my favorite sims, GPL&VR, both have steering wheels.  My
: point was, who many do you need?  When I drive a real car I have one in my hands
: and that appears  to be enough, I sure don't need anoither superimposed on the
: dash.  Paul

Well, I am sure I am in the minority, but I drive GPL with a joystick.  I
can afford neither the desk space nor cost of a wheel at the moment.  I
love the arms.  And you can toggle them off, so who cares?

Stephen

:> Oh no, GPL complaint deja-vu....!

I think its really to show that if Monaco looks good in a game then the rest
of the tracks should be good. Since so much (close up)detail has to go into
Monaco, I'd say thats the reason.

Well the game is 98 but a black arrows doesn't mean 98, have you watched any
99 GP's?

hehe, anyway, I think it will be 98.

The 1999 livery for Arrows is back at the back and orange (primarily) at the
front in deferance to Repsol, who are Pedro De La Rosa's backers.
