T1 Wheel Slow in GP2?

I have a T1 and run gp2 in VGA with about 20fp.  The steering seems
slow.  And very un responsive.  Even on the straights and passing it
takes exagerated turns to get around traffic.  I tried re-calibrating
using less travel but that did not help.  The keyboard seems so much
more responsive.  Any ideas?
