The Rascar Race at Coca Cola is going to be nothing less than, well I don't
know. But it will be nothing less than it :)
I did some testing today with a 42 car field, fast setup and 98% AI. 98%
seems about right when racing the AI with a fast setup.
No input from the "I can beat any AI race at 110%" is necessary, because I
don't believe you anyway :)
I noticed a couple of things that concern me:
1. This is one fast and wild race track. Sh*t happens fast, and it happens
often.
2. If you get into a "oscillation" down the straights, it's all over for
you. Don't start wiggling or jerk the wheel hard!
3. This one worries me the most. You will find you HAVE to let up a bit
entering the corners. Especially if you are in heavy traffic, which I
expect we will be all race. Your car WILL push up the track, and it's
especially bad even after just 5 laps or so. Tires seem to get greasy fast
here.
4. Easy on the brakes. The rear-end will unsettle on you in a heartbeat.
5. Stay off the curbs! They are NOT your friend here!
6. I saw speeds in excess of 240mph in the draft. After 5 laps or so, you
will NOT make it through the turns if you are low unless you let up a bit.
Pushing up into the high line traffic is going to kill us tomorrow.
While I think tomorrow's race is going to be a blast, I fear it's not going
to be as clean as we are acustomed to, and some tempers are going to flair
in the post race show here on RAS.
I maintain that it may be wise to run moderate instead of full damage for
this one race. If we don't, we may not have many finishers. It's just the
nature of this beast.
PLEASE practice some on this track with at least 25 AI cars! Don't think
that just because it's a SS track, it's going to be a breeze to drive. It
is mentally challanging and requires more concentration in traffic than any
race I've run on RAS so far.
Finally, if I'm the first to***it up, please accept my apologise in
advance :)
