racing chat etiquette

This is a post to the VROC mailing list which I felt might be of
interest to anyone on r.a.s. who races GPL online.

Another chat item of note is that GPL 1.2 supports "whispering" to a
single other driver.  This is great for private stuff like passing along
setup tips.  It's also the preferred way of commenting if you and
another driver have crashed out of a race.  That way you don't disturb
the other drivers who are trying to concentrate on their driving.

To whisper to another driver, you can use their car number, or a unique
substring of their name.  For example:

/#16 Hey, John. What's up?
/smith What's up?
/j.smith What's up?
/jo.smi What's up?
/john.smith What's up?

>Po means "Pit Out" is polite way to let someone who may be coming down the front straight to know that you will be entering the track. If I do a bad, I simply type "S" (sorry) from the car. This is usually followed by a "NP" (no problem) from the driver that had been done wrong.
