Depends on the make/model of the modem... he must look for the AT-commands
(usually listed in an annex to the user guide) wich perform the following
and then concatenate them to enter in the extra settings field.
- factory reset (he can skip this if he doesn't use the
modem for faxing)
- force compression off (if he wants to race NR2003 via
Sierra, he needs to leave it on in order to receive
the racelist).
- force error correction off
- force hardware handshaking
- limit maximum connection speed to anything between 28k8
and 33k6
