Saw the race sunday, decided to try Nazareth- jeeze, I can't get any
faster than 168mph/lap, which doesn't quite let me race at 100%.
Anybody got a decent setup for the track?

I don't think this is a track where a magic setup will work. It's more
of a track that requires extreme driving skills. I have played with
setup after setup. Everything leaves me about the same (give or take a
mph). Work on getting into & out of turn 3. That's where I lose the
most time. This one is hard to do every lap. Nazareth is "seen" as a
road course by most of the real drivers. Make sure you have enough wing
to take the corners. The ACE setup is a good starting place for
tweaking a setup for your own driving style. Shock setting should be
similar to the ACE setting (at least the ratios between the settings).
You might want to play with camber and tire pressure to help get into
the turns faster.
If anybody has any good pointers I'm looking to. I can qualify well at
this track, but just can't keep up during the race.

Upside out, or inside down...False alarm the only game in town.

Good point. The only reason I came to this track was because I always
try to get good on a track the real indycars are about to race... I
came to Nazareth thinking it was a dopey track, like an oval that just
didn't have enough room. But now I am fascinated by it- it really is
right in between a road course and a track, and takes more
concentration than any other track I've tried. Passing people on it is
incredibly difficult.
...
I found that a very minimal change in camber got my full-tank speed up
from 161 mph to 171mph! Camber seems to be one of the keys. But I
haven't figured out the rule to it.
I am very glad to hear I am not the only one not keeping up with the
pack here; I don't like racing at under 100%, but here I end up being
so much slower than everyone else.
It is interesting that in watching the real race, there was a
tremendous spread, I think much greater than we are seeing in ICR2,
between leaders and trailers. Even a racer like Vassar was getting
passed as if standing still by the leaders- terrible setup,
apparently. And I think it is interesting that Emmo has called it his
favorite track. And Tracy, who had by far the most time on the track,
and consequently probably the best car setup, blew everyone away in
sheer speed (not so great on other things, of course).
In short, I think you are right, this is an extreme setup *and*
precision-driving track. If one or the other isn't there, you'll fall
very quickly behind.
...
I'm curious, why the max shocks? I figured I needed about 70% on those
front wheels, to keep them sticking...
BTW, I gather from looking at cars in the real race last sunday that
we also need LOTS of negative camber on that FR tire!
Thanks for the tips!
