act-labs Shifter for Force RS for $45 Cdn. in Vancouver Area

by Neil Tra » Thu, 22 Feb 2001 12:29:16

Hi everyone,

If anyone is in the Vancovuer area and has an Act-Labs Force RS steering
wheel, then the shifter I have would work with it. The reason I'm selling it
so cheap (reg. price $59 American) is that I ordered the shifter from a
computer store and didn't know that it works only with the Force RS Wheel.

Or if anyone has a non-force RS shifter engine, I'd be happy to buy it from
them.

I'm curious...

Do you HAVE to have the Act Labs to use this?

If not, is there any sort of add-on shifter like this you can get?

I like my MSFFW (especially the best-in-class pedals), but I could sure do
without the damned tiny shifter paddles.

Information overload :)

Does this mean they do, or do not an/or will or or will not have this
stand-alone shifter?

Thanks :)

Hi Dog-Leg

It means ACT LABS will release a stand-alone USB Shifter in short time, you
can use it together with your MSFF (and TM, LW, GM etc) but be aware that
only 2 game (GPL, N4) and 1 upcoming  (WSC) will support this USB Shifter,
right now  (Feb. 2001)
I have a Force RS and RS Shifter and with my GPL Shifter support, this
Racing Sim. can go direct from gear 5 to 2

http://home.worldonline.dk/~7471000/

I love it, and want a second Shifter to my other Pc with a good old non
Force TM, to a local GPL multiplay fight

Wouldn't it be possible for others to write a program like 'stick it'
to work with the USB shifter?  I don't even have the RS shifter but
when I run 'stick it' my second controller, which is a gamepad, can
shift gears when I press down a button.
