Anyone else got this game - with advance orders of 200,000 (say Psygnosis) I
should think this highly likely.
Being an Amiga owner and realising that Microprose have no intention of
upgrading F1GP I have bought a Playstation to play F1 which was released
yesterday.1st impressions were great-good graphics,excellent sound and
incredible track realism. For the first 3 or 4 hours all was good but niggles
have started to surface - lying in 16th at Spa a Benetton passed me.In the
resultant collision his rear wing flew off.Great,I thought,at least he'll have
to pit as well,buuuut...when the pits appear said Benetton sails past with no
apparent drop in speed.
There are also no rear view mirrors and no way of telling your damage until
you pit - bit of pot luck really!
I never expected the game to be the equal of F1GP but faults, bugs, call 'em
what you like, such as these really detract from what in all other aspects is a
superb piece of programming - plus it has Murray Walker!!
Buy the game-enjoy over a few beers-but don't expect it to be the ultimate sim
it's been marketed as.

Cars DO go into the pits after damage, Its happened to me several times.

Press down on the d-pad for a rear view. As for damage, isn't it like that on all
these F1 games? F1gp1/2 don't have damage indicators until your seriously damaged
and in psx f1 you can tell serious damage cos your wings come off!

I think the game is more a progression of f1gp1 than f1gp2. It has a similar
'easy' car set up but much improved graphics. For a more realistic race try
playing it with the opposition boost off on the hard level and it takes on a new
perspective.

Is is just me or is the lack of distance markers before corners a
bizarre omission? (pun intended)  Anyone out there fancy a fast circuit
without obvious breaking points???  Shame really, since the tracks are
beautifully modelled - probably better than GP2, IMHO.

One other quibble, why is the rev. counter available in Arcade mode
but *not* in GP mode?

What is the boost? The description in the manual is confusing. I don't have the
manual "on me" here, but I think it says something like "allows slows cars to
catch up with the faster cars quicker"!?!?
