Formula One on Playstation

I've just got bought a playstation and got Formula One to go along with it.
Initial impressions are the graphics and sound are very good.  There are quite
a few things that so far are bugging me.  So can anyone tell me if you
can do the following and how?

1) In qualifying, find out what position you and everyone else is?  I only
seem to be able to get your current position as you cross the line.
If you can't find out how well you are doing it would seem strange to me.

2) How many laps or how long (don't know which) is left in qualifying?

3) The state of you car during the race?

Any help apprecieted.

Apart from getting someone to shout out the Tag-Heur timing as you cross the
line you only find out when you start the race-when the flag appears telling
you that you are about to start a race DON'T press any buttons-just press the
right joypad button and a starting grid with times will scroll across - better
late than never I suppose.

Should have 12 laps in which to qualify but on a couple of occasions I have
just kept hurtling along and nothing has happened - perhaps you have 12 best
attempts at qualifying?

Big bug bear-apart from suddenly realising you have no front or rear wing it's
a guess. When the tyres are badly worn the car does seem to take wider lines
on corners although this could be wing damage as well.
