Hawaii--Unknown Error (INIT)

by Llo Maczug » Sun, 28 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I'm tired of this.  I have an easy time connecting to Hawaii and getting
to the Race Scheduler.  I have joined some nominated races and have sat
there waiting for a race to start sometimes up to 10 minutes (or so it
seems).  When it finally does say "Connecting to Nascar", I get booted
back to the Race Scheduler with an "Unknown Error", then "Init Error"
followed by the reconnecting to Race Sceduler.  Why can't I get to the
track??  My initialization string works with other modem opponents, why
not Hawaii??  My Baud's at 19200, my modem is a 14.4.  I've tried both
ATZ and AT&F strings but with always the same problems (errors).  I can't
afford to connect LD, wait for 10 minutes to race only to be told I have
an "Unknown (INIT) Error" and thrown back to the Scheduler.  What's the
prob here???  I have given up.  Please someone help. What should init
line look like...just AT&F OR the entire initialization?  I've tried both
ways. NO DICE

Thank you

you are probably using a Diskette version of NASCAR and you have SVGA mode
ON.

Turn it off and try again.
