The Future of Online Racing?

Does anyone know if there is or are plans for a professional
online racing league?  Because I believe that this is the
future of online competition.  With this championship you
could have a server where people could come in and watch the
race, or it is possible you could have an annoucer(or not).
Imagine watching a race where you can control who to follow
and by what camera position to watch them.  Hopefully some
business person(not Bernie Eccelstone) or computer company
will start this or help in it's funding.
