Mercedes-Benz World Racing -- PC version

GameFaction has some exclusive screens of the PC version of
Mercedes-Benz World Racing, from the same folks who brought us
Mercedes-Benz Truck Racing (MBTR):

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

As impressive as MBTR was, trucks aren't really my cup of tea.  MBTW
was awesome, though, both graphically and physics-wise, so this latest
title could be a surprise blockbuster.  Even though it will only
contain Mercedes-Benz cars, there have been some AWESOME M-B cars over
the years, so I am really looking forward to this one.  Is anybody
else as e***d as I am?  I was really looking forward to Pro Race
Driver from Codemasters, but that was a HUGE disappointment -- I hope
that MBWR doesn't follow suit.

Anybody else hearing anything about this title?

Thanks for the link!  I still love MBTR; it's a riot.  I prefer the F1
games so trying to drive a truck is quite a switch. :)

I too was disappointed with PRD and heard similar complaints about
CMR3.  I had to order MBTR from Europe but it was worth it.  I am definitely
going to get MBWR.

I was worried about NFS:Porsche only having one brand of car but I loved that
game.  MB has lots of great cars.  Now all we need is a similar game based on
Ferrari.

In the screenshots, there's an SUV race with the ML55 and Gelandewagens (sp?);
too cool! :)

There's a link on http://www.racesimcentral.net/

The XBox version was terrible

I just saw it today, it looks VERY interesting. After playing Need for
Speed V: Porsche Unleashed for such a long time (it was such a great
game), the latest NFS Hot Persuit was a complete dissapointment. Nice
graphics, but WAY too arcadish for me.

Hopefully World Racing will have incredible graphics and equally
incredible and realistic physics!

Does anyone know when this game is going to be released? I can only
find an XBox official site for it...

I owned the xbox version for a day (about as long as Apex and Lotus
Challenge lasted).  It was pretty horrid.

Jason,

What exactly was "horrid" about it, and -- just to provide the proper
frame of reference -- what sort of controller were you using (i.e.,
X-Box gamepad, driving wheel, etc.)?  Details and impressions, please.

I would guess that Total Immersion Racing is pretty horrid on the
X-Box and the PS2, but with the proper tweaks, the PC version is
downright satisfying physics-wise, for example.  Pro Race Driver, on
the other hand, seems to be TRULY horrid, regardless of the platform.

So, please, a little more detail on your impressions of the X-Box
version.
