Does anybody know how to make this game work in a system with both a CDrom
drive and a CDRW drive? I bought it when it first came out and I only had a
normal CD drive. A couple weeks later, after throwing away the game box and
receipt, I added a CDRW to my system. NFSHS now refuses to recognize its own
CD. I tried several installs from both drives to no avail. It doesn't matter
which drive the disk is in - no joy. Then I went to EA's site only to find out
they know about the problem! I tried again today to see if they have a patch
for it yet, but they must be using a VIC-20 as a server; their pages either
just don't load or time out.
Anybody know a way to end this aggravation?

Go to http://206.161.225.66/cracks/m-p.htm and get a no cd patch to the
game.

The game will only play in the First recognized cd drive(ie, d: and not e:).
I had this problem and the solution is in the troubleshoot/FAQ section on
the Needforspeed.com site.

Cracks wont work if u use the auto-patcher.

The solution that I got from Sierra was to install the game from the first
removable device (I have two CD's a CD-RW and a Zip. I relabelled all my
drives so that the zip was last, the CD's were first and the CD-RW in the
middle. I then installed the game from the first CD. Hey presto everything
works fine now. I even have a logical layout of my drives.

The No-CD crack that I used required making a copy of the CD to the hard
disk and changing a file then burning a new CD. It worked too.
