Magnetic Fields is no more, so the publisher passed the game engine on to
the new developer.

Oh yes, didn't find this.

Unfortunately it crashed on quitting though, forcing me to hard reboot :(

This game is doing little to endear itself to me ...

Hey guys,

I spent a long time downloading it and was disappointed with the low frame
rate with my PIII 450 mhz with my 3dfx 3000 AGP card.

It doesn't even have a control setup screen although it has a control.jpg
file

I assume it was the age of my computer so I uninstalled it and went back to
CMR 2.0

i still fondly remember kikstart, supercars, lotus, trailblazer,
cosmic causeway on c64 & amiga.

Shaun Southern was imo one of the 'greats' in the old days.

going to miss Magnetic Fields...

I'm really surprised about the framerate problems everybody seems to
have with Rally Extreme.. P3 866 GF2 GTS here, and silky smooth fps in
1280res 32 bit, even when I make an extreme accident.
I think I prefer this one too CMR2 if they get the controller problems
fixed.. the driving in CMR2 is kinda fun, but I truly hate the tracks
in CMR2. I liked the track in Rally X, wide open areas but the track
itself is quite narrow.
I think the V3 card is the bottleneck on your system.. d3d games like
N4 and F1CS got a MUCH better framerate when I went from my P3 500 V3
to my P3 866 GF2 GTS.
