The latest issue of Auto Sim Sport covers it all very well and its included
in the Oct issue d/l.  http://www.racesimcentral.net/

My only problem is that now we are fragmenting GTR2 universe into two camps.
Now if EVERYONE used the adv physics we could be on to something.  Then
again the multi code in GTR2 doesn't even compare to rFactor so does it
really matter?  The "if a tree falls in the forest" argument :)

I am not sure on the shelf life of GTR2. With RACE not far off and multi
code apparently not up to rFactor level, it may be limited to endurance
racing fans rather than becoming the sim of choice for the masses.

From an offline and league perspective patching is fine and if pick up
racing is of a hit & miss quality anyway then I can easily give this a miss.

Cheers

The next race sim from SIMBIN, simulating the World Touring Car
Championship.

Due this side of Christmas apparently.

Yes.  I've been burned out on racing sims for about a year or so now.
I just can't get into the same old tracks (seeing as most are
conversions).
What I want is something free-roaming, such as Test Drive Unlimited
(but with more solid physics).  rFactor had a free roam mod in the
works but it looks like vaporware now...

Same here, I'm burned out on racing sims as well. I've been playing them
since... way back when all we had was DOS run games.
Personally, what killed it for me is all the cheaters and jerks who play
nr2003. The NR series use to be fun. rfactor is no better then EA's attempt
at Nascar, ( NSR)  although they have a nice mix of mods and GTR doesn't do
it for me...damn, so now I have to spend time with the wife..lol
