OK,

I'm 35 years old and have been playing racing games/sims since I was about
10 ! I have a new nixim polecat with DFP/Frexed wheel + extras.... BRD 3
pedals...

One problem... I'm just not enjoying anything at the moment...
R-Factor,GTR2,LFS,NetKar... I just can't seem to get into any...

Does anyone else get like this.. or is it time for me to sell it all and
walk away !

Thanks

Maybe there is simply too much choice. Zipping from sim to sim rather
than getting into a particular one may be the issue.

Try the NAP patch for GTR2 bundled with this month's autosimsport
(www.autosimsport.net) and run a Porsche RSR with the supplied setup and
see what you think.

Cheers

When I feel that way I go play a different genre of game for a while. You
will return to sim racing with renewed vigour when you feel like it.
Sometimes I feel jaded about *** in general, nothing e***s me anymore,
when I feel that way I go watch TV/read a book for a few days and don't
play any games.

Are we selling things here again?  Are you plugging something that is now
free but in the future will cost a little cash?

It's like when ATM machine first hit the scene.  Great convenience.  Now,
after everyone became utterly dependent on them, you can't withdraw money or
make any transaction unless you want to spend some money, as a fee.

Is that what this is all about?  Or are we plugging this for the good of the
good.

I lost the thrill of racing over 6 months ago. Not sure what happened. I
started GTR & GTL and was having a great time. After years of racing from
Nascar Hawaii and GPL to GTR., World of Warcraft has sucked me in lately. I
am sure one day I will get back to racing. Maybe because the BRD gear has
been dismantled for desk space. Hmmmm, now I want to race some! :-)

Not sure what you are getting at Alan?

I have been following the development of the NAP patch after it was
released for the demo. The fact it came bundled with Autosimsport is
pure coincidence and an easy way to provide a link. I originally got it
from an Italian forum.

As Tony suggested, pick one game/mod (I'd suggest the rF 1979 - if that
won't get your *** flowing, nothing will.), find one or two good
leagues, race regularly, and see what happens.

OTOH, if you don't have the interest, you don't have it.  Just be sure
to test the water every so often and one day you'll find yourself all
Gung-Ho again.

In the UK when the banks proposed to charge people a fee to get their
money, there was such a huge fuss that they backed down. I noticed when
I went to the US that there was often a withdrawal fee if you were not a
customer of the bank you were using but interestingly as a foreigner
drawing out dollars from a sterling account in the UK I was never
charged (my bank doesn't charge me to withdraw money ever, whether at
home or abroad). Perhaps it's time you stood up to your banks and told
them to stick their charges?

Apologies for not having anything on topic to say :)

If yu can't get into rFactor, then it might be time to hang it up. Won't
find anything better until rFactor2.

Oops hit send! Meant to say GTR2 with the NAP patch is a close run.
Dropping down 4 gears in the Zonda with the back end darting around into
T1 at Orchard Lake feels and sounds awesome in rFactor. I just couldn't
get the same level of immersion in GTR2 until I patched it. Certainly as
an offline sim GTR2 adds a bit more polish. It depends what the OP is
looking for.

yep.  Put them away for a few weeks, play something else or learn the
guitar etc...   Then one day your pedal foot will start to itch again.
