pre-ordering the actlabs pedals

I'm checking what ordering the clutchpedal system would cost me: 59.99$ is
cheap BUT: add 25$ to get in in belgium by parcel and add another 16.15$
taxes. That makes it 101.14$?? That almost doubles the price given on the
site!
I'm sure they can't do anything about the taxes but sure the parcel doesn't
need to cost 25$ does it? I have patience so I don't care if I have to wait
3 weeks to get it instead of 5 days or so. Please give us the option to
choose between fast but expensive delivery or cheaper and slow.

Hello,

Yes, I agree with you that $25 is a lot for shipping, but it does need
to be shipped via air from North America.

The other option is to order it directly from:
www.psxshop.com

Also, there is a "possibility" that we will be carrying the
Performance Pedals in our EU warehouse.

The reason we do not offer postal delivery service is that it is not
possible to track the shipment accurately.  The risk of losing such a
product is prohibitively high.

Hi Tim

I agree, its a terrible price to ship it to N.Ireland too.  $45 for German
Courier.  I could fly myself to germany and pick them up for that amount
(seriously).

Raymond, is there any way to get them stocked in the UK a little more
widely?  There are alot of us UK guys would love the pedals, but the postage
is horrible.

All the best,
Ash

Yes, if there was a UK supplier, I'd not only buy the pedals, but the FF
wheel and shifter, etc, too.

The fact that I have to order them from abroad, combined with the shipping
costs
is definitely putting me off. What if I have a problem with it? Then I've
got to ship it abroad for repair, etc.

Surely somewhere like Dixons would stock it if approached?

Richard,

http://www.softwarefirst.com do the wheel and shifter, but when i asked them
politely if they would be getting the clutch pedal in I got a rather blunt
email saying nothing much at all.

All the best,
Ash

Getting a european distributor to carry it would be a very good idea IMO...

I know there's a lot of europeans that are looking at getting some  ACT-LABS
products - me included...  High shipping cost can make that trend turn
though.

Ok, how about you send me a plane ticket to Canada and then one to
Germany and I will bring over as many as I can . . . I'd love to visit
the Ring :-)

Can you imagine getting those pedals etc through customs?
the xray techs would go nuts trying to figure out what you have there.

Hello,

Have you tried:
www.softwarefirst.com
www.psxshop.com
www.act-labs.de

We do have shipping centre in Holland that makes shipping a little
cheaper, but I admit, shipping costs can be high.  It's just that the
darn shipping weight is over 30 pounds for just the Force RS and RS
Shifter.

Actually, it was not too bad getting through customs.  When we were at
E3 in May, we hand carried the pedals and didn't get too much trouble.
We did have fun time explaining why we would have pedals with us.

Now, when I travel, I just say video game industry and that's usually
enough to get them off my back.  :)  Non gamers just don't get it.
