I'm having problems getting my 486 DX2-66 running up to speed.
The machine is a Packard Bell Legend 102. The original Intel 486SX-25 has been
replaced with a Cyrix/IBM 486 DX2_66 5 volter. I've changed the relevant
jumpers and things. Using various benchmarks the system is only clocking a 20%
increase in speed in Windows 3.11. (CPU benchmarks only)
Running DOS stuff is fine, it clocks in at about 2.1 times faster. But I
hardly notice any difference under Windows.
Could I get away clocking it to 40/80Mhz?
Any Suggestions?
Thanks
