Does anyone know how this works? If it works? If it does work how do I get it? Where
do I get it? It's not in the Pits. I would think if it works it would be in the Pits.
Thanks,   Richard

Remember racecar is racecar spelled backward

I didn't try to run the program.  But by scanning through it with a hex
viewer, it appears to attempt to double clock the CPU.  So beware
folks...

Now, just HOW do you do that? Nope, don't believe a program
can change ANY CPU speeds. Post the code here and let US
decide.

Right I put it here so I will finish it.  I don't give a *** how it

months now without probs!!!  So if ya want it its on my web page.

There seems to be alot of discussion on this little program.  Once again
I didn't run it and don't plan on running it on my machine.  However,
for those of you who might consider it I am including some of the text I
found in the program.

"Increase speed of processor through safe Clock doubling and CPU pushing
of registers."  "Please wait scanning BIOS"  "modifying instructions...
updating chipset...updating clock speed"  "The system speed is doubled.
These changes are permanent. To revert back to Single speed, simply tap
options 3 from Main Menu."

I'm sorry, but CPU speed is a hardware function. You will need to
change jumpers on your motherboard to alter the clock speed (*do not*
do this!!).

A simple test to prove this is to see if it increases the speed of
*every* program? If not, then it has nothing to do with the clock
speed.

It may well work (no opinion - I haven't tried it) by some other
means, but it *cannot* alter a hardware setting!

I have downloaded and Installed the "Speed" program.  It did very little to improve any
performance although I have noticed a slight increase in FPS will running in heavy
traffic in NASCAR. I have a Pentium 75mhz. My question is: If this program double clocks
my CPU, and my CPU still works fine right now, is there any danger of anything "BAD"
happening to my CPU?  Will it be fine just to leave it installed or do I need to
uninstall and delete the program?

Also, does anyone know of a utility that I could download and use for checking the
Frames Per Second in NASCAR Racing and Indy Car Racing 2?  Thanks!

If you know what you are doing & accept the risk that some chips will
be damaged by overclocking them, then fine. Personally, I don't fancy
taking the risk of damaging my CPU.

But there again, if it *did* get damaged, it would be a perfect excuse
for upgrading to a better chip. Heck, I might even be able to run GP2.
Now where are those jumpers... <G>

I tried this on the machines at work, and a text it performs
to see how fast the machine is going, said that the Pentiums
were in fact 386's! I don't trust this program at all, and
have no intention of letting it anywhere near my machine. Has
anyone else out there tied it yet?
