re: frank is tougher

i steer with my left hand (the one that I tried to cut off), and the
doctor gave me strict orders not to move the fingers at all for at
least a week, or i could make the damage irrepairable.  besides, it
had long been stated that frank was beyond hope anyway, so he had
nothing to lose... :)

Right now your tendons are like wet noodles that are stitched together.
That's why you have the 5 pound cast (so you can't***it up). As soon as
they replace this cast with the next one, probably a smaller plaster cast,
you'll be able to rest it on the wheel without your arm falling on the
floor. I won't be long before you put the monkey aside and start racing
again. C'mon buddy, think positive!

And IIRC, you actually drove pretty well, until the pain meds started wearing
off...

John does seem to regard himself as a somewhat God-like creature, but you
don't have to refer to him as Jesus... :)

Many, many years ago, there was a joke doing the rounds about Vince
Lombardi, the "hard as nails" coach of the Green Bay Packers. (United
States: National Football League profession football).

The joke went something like this:

In bed on a cold winter's night, Vince accidentally touched Mrs.
Lombardi's leg with one of his feet.

"Jesus, your feet are cold!", she complained.

"In bed, dear," he replied, "you may call me Mr. Lombardi."

I suspect that variations of this joke go all the way back to King
Solomon. Nothing is ever *really* new.

(Obligatory car or driver content: I wonder if Stirling Moss was ever
called "Jesus"?)
