I have a TSW2 and a Force RS, but sometimes, it's just nice
to kick back and relax, particularly when a game such as
GT2 controls so well.

Have you tried WRC (World Rally Championship) for PS2?  It's great with the Dual
Shock.  I think I'm gonna see if I can get that one to work with your emulator,
though.  Just to see how it feels with my good wheel and pedals.

If you haven't tried it - go rent it - you won't be disappointed.  In fact next
month they will be releasing WRC2 which should be a blast.

Thanks for that tip.  I downloaded the emulator, but its asking me to install
a BIOS file -- either scph1001.bin or scph7502.  I did a search on the web and
every site that I find it on either has 10 million pop-up ads or ask you to
"join".

Is there a "clean" site where one of these BIOS files can be downloaded?
(Unbelievable, even as I compose this message a damn Credit Repair add pops up
every 20 seconds or so.....  I really hate that crap!)

ePSXe only emulates a PSX, not a PS2..

I've tried it!

Could you please post your settings...

I have a LWFF (old Red FF one) that is connected via USB port, any
idea if this will work. BTW my system is a PIII 933 w/384 PC133 RAM
and a GeForce 2 GTS 64 meg (2 years old) think I'll be able to exceed
50fps?

And.... Is it possible to run GT3 on a PC?

I've always found the dual-shock to be a fairly lame controller for racing
sims.  Does the PS2 have a joypad available with analogue triggers like the
excellent xbox joypad?

O.K.

PSX has all sorts of gamepads.
It may have some DC/XBox style pads, I don't know.
www.ebgames.com may have some
Remeber you have to have the USB adapter.

If there is a PC pad that you like that will work, try that.

Yes, the standard DualShock 2 controller that comes with the PS2 has
analogue buttons for everything, the four 'action' buttons, the four
shoulder buttons and i think select and start as well. What did you
think the xbox controller functionality was modelled on?

That's the bit that allows them to release the emulators - you need to
have a PlayStation to get the bios info. Of course, obtaining the bios
info if you dont have the console is illegal, but hypothetically, if
you did want it, I think a quick search on a P2P file sharer like
Kazaa would get results.

Also, there are programs which disallow popup windows and other
annoying Java web features, take a look around the web.

> And.... Is it possible to run GT3 on a PC?

No. Not unless you plug a PS2 into a TV card... People are working on
emulators, and I guess that eventually they will get one which runs
proper games, but I don't think so for a while yet. The PS2 (and to a
lesser extent GC) hardware is very difficult to emulate, let alone at
60fps for GT3. An xbox emulator seems to be the most likely, but then
there really isn't much demand for it.

Two of the shoulder buttons are "pressure-sensitive" (Sony's term). The
rest of the buttons are digital.  The analog triggers on the bottom of the
Xbox controller were more than likely modeled after the Dreamcast
controller.

Certainly not the Dual Shock's lame 'pressure sensitive' buttons.  Both the Xbox
and the Gamecube have full analogue triggers which work very well in racing
games.  I guess the credit goes to Sega - the Dreamcast was the first to feature
them.

I just tried it.  I'm afraid it doesn't run at 60fps.  The emulator runs at
60fps, but since GT2 was designed to run at half of the TVs refresh rate, the
actual game only runs at a paltry 30fps.

Nice emulator.  Still a horrendously overrated game though....

Thanks for the tip Ed!! I bought GT2 for 20 euro (about $20), messed
an hour with all the settings of the emu and it works damn nice!
It runs ***y smooth at 1024x768 on my pc. Have to tweak all the
options a bit to get the best out of this emu, but I'm surprised at
how well it runs on my old P3 :)

PS Do you know if Driver 2 runs on this emu?
