ICR2 Installation problem

I realize ICR2 is ancient history but I still love it so.  My new pc
won;'t allow me to setup my old ICR1.  I keep getting a sound car
lockup despite inputting the proper IRA DMA and port settings.  Any
advice on how to resolve this?  I see most of the old ICR2 sites are
no longer online........

Try to get your sound card using I/O port 220 (or 240), IRQ 5, DMA LOW 1
and DMA HIGH 5.  These are the most compatible settings for old DOS
games.  Be sure not to use IRQ 2 or 9 or anything above 10.  It's kinda
like saying use IRQ 5 because its the only once left..  :-)

yes,,try and choose one of the sound cards that allow you to change the values
to 220 / 5 / 1 .  Don't click on test digital sound as it might cause the setup
program for icr2 to lockup and wouldn't save your settings.
