Though we may disagree (which is a major part of any discussion) over many
things most of us are quite mature about it and we let everyone have their
say about many differant racing sims/games.  I see many posts here about
NFS, though some might not think of this series as a sim, we allow those who
want to discuss it do so.

I know the ages of contributers to RAS ranges from at least 15 to 60 years
and seem to be in all corners of the world.

RAS is far more sensible than rasf1, a group of people who give new meaning
to the word Juvenile.  I love Formula One but don't have the time of day to
waste wading through the megabytes of idiotic posts in that group.  I find
that a trip to RAS though will usually be informative and educational
Hopefully I will also be able to try and help someone with a problem or get
help if I am stuck with something.  Thats another thing, the help in here is
first class,  99% of my HELP! posts have been promptly answered and 99% of
those answers have solved my problem.

Okay I'm rambling on a bit here.

I'm so proud to be part of this <sniff>, and on behalf of noone but
myself, I would like to thank a few who have made all this possible, my
parents for bringing me into this world, my grand parents for bringing
my parents into the world and make it possible for them to bring me into
this world, and my great grand parents for doing their part as well, the
list here goes on and on all the way back to the "big bang" that started
all of this <sniff>

I would also like to thank the Atari corporation for making the 520ST,
which gave me first taste of computer games, and subsequent models, such
as the 1040 STE on which I played Geoff Crammonds original GP <sniff>,
I'd like to thank Intel for providing me with CPU's over the years, ever
since my 486 days, ASUS <sniff> for providing motherboards, Creative for
making excellent sound cards and MS for providing the OS on which I have
been running most of these games on

Quickshot deserves a mention as it was the joystick of my choice when I
first ran GP, Thrustmaster provided me with my first wheels, CH for
making decent pedals, Redline Race Controls <sniff> most certainly
deserves a mention for bringing beauty <sniff> as well as function to my
sim racing setup

Payrus has a big place in all of this of course, for without GPL <sniff
sniff>, this gold medal <sniff> would never have have landed here, and
all the people who have put in countless hours to enhance this exquisite
piece of software, people Like Allison Hine and David Noonan <sniff> to
mention but a few, sim racing web sites like "The Pits" <sniff> and
"GPLEA" and all the others who most certainly deserves a mention, but
who's names elude me at the moment as I'm completely thrown out of
balance by this great honor that has been bestowed upon us <sniff>, and
which I'm so happy to be a part of <sniff>

And last but not least, I'd like to thank my cat, Willy <sniff>, for
always being there right beside me whenever things went wrong during a
race, come to think of it, he may be part of why things have gone wrong
from time to time, but it has taught me to expect the unexpected,
nothing will surprise me when driving GPL anymore, nothing, and I think
this gives me an edge on the competition <sniff>

In short, I'm so darn proud of what we have accomplished here people
<sniff>, and Bruce has told me that to celebrate this, he has decided to
share with us the secret recipe for the marinade his friend uses for
making the best barbecued shrimps there is <sniff sniff>, he may not
remember this as he was having some "after effects" after earlier having
experienced the "Chivas effect", but I swear it's the truth <sniff>
