I recently bought the re-release (by Tamiya) of the 1966 1/12 Honda F1.
This was originally released back in 1966/67 and has been resurrected in
"celebration" of Honda entering their full works F1 team again next
year.

Over 30 years ago I bought and built this model and I am looking forward
to redoing it during the coming year.

Also nearing completion is a rare (only 200 kits were made) 1/24 release
of the Lotus 49 of 1967 (Dutch GP) and 1968 (South African GP).  This is
a "master craftsman" kit from a small specialist business in Japan and
is in resin, white metal castings etc. with negligable documentation.
It does build up into a magnificent, highly accurate model but requires
patience and a wealth of reference material!!

Bruce,
I still have the (plastic) 1:24 Tamiya model of the '67 Lotus 49. Recently I
also recovered the reference material I used then for painting the thing! So
if you need some information, just let me know. Send an e-mail as I won't be
online for the next couple of weeks.

Bye,
Leo

Something awful just came to my mind: the Sierra Germany website
announces GPL as "complete German edition". Since games companies
usually can't even get the texts of their install routines translated
into something remotely sounding like German, what will they do with
(to) this manual...  :(((
Can somebody recommend a reliable mail order company that delivers
overseas?
I just hope Heiko Wasser and Jochen Maas don't do any voice over clips
for this sim (viewers of RTL know what I'm talking about...)

Bruce, was that the one you bought from the web site? (I remember you
posting a pic some time ago). If so, do you still have the web address? My
bank balance is pretty healthy at the moment and my cardiac state is now
stable LOL. I remember hitting that converter and turning yen into sterling.

Regards

Mark :-))

I do have the address, Mark, but I know that the model is no longer
available. (In fact, none of the Lotii made by K Models are
available....no Lotus 33 and no Type 49s of 67 or 68).

The price, if currently available, would be 75 Pounds Sterling.

The site name is HobbyLink Japan.
Main URL is http://www.iac.co.jp/~hlj/index.html

The page URL for the 1/24 scale racing cars is:-
http://www.iac.co.jp/~hlj/pages/autrac/autrac24.html

(Note...if you *really* want this model I did buy two kits).

Cheers Mate.
So what is the going rate now from Aus? 1000  <G>.
Actually, I just fancied another browse to see if anything caught my eye. I must
admit though, that 49 looked almost edible:-)

Regards Mark

Oh, with the value of our "Banana Dollar" tumbling, I'd say it'd be
prettyb close to that! :o)

Well-said, Wolfgang. I wouldn't call us "viewers", but "captives"
rather ever since the bastards stole the license from Eurosport by
outbidding them for the broadcasting rights....

Uwe (another German longing for the good ol' days of Watson/Edwards
coverage, sigh)
