Barcelona track uphill all the time??

by Cy Walke » Sat, 07 Feb 1998 04:00:00

If this is regarding the GP2 track editor being develop[ed by ?? ( I forget)
the height works on a change in angle.
i.e. 10 does not mean ten feet up, it means ten angle units towards uphill
so - is down.
therefore if whole track is flat except 1 section with height 10 the track
will carry on upwards at 10 after that section.
This causes 'bugs' seen as vertical track sections. the make a bump on a
flat track one needs to make sure all angles and lengths net zero hieght
change.

section    lenght     height
1                10            5
2                   ?            -5
3                 10            -5
4                    ?            5

result like this               0-1-2-3-4
                                              _
                                       _  /      \  _

I hope ti\his helps

reminds me of a great murray walker quote:
"this track's really interesting because it has so many
inclines, and not just up but down as well".

exact quote to follow by someone with a better memory/computer than
me.
