Nascar Charger wheel help needed

I have a Nascar Charger wheel that I use with Need for Speed 3. My
question is: is there anyway to tighten up the steering, as it isn't
very precise. I've set the Dead Zone for both axis to 0%, but I still
don't have the control I want. Any suggestions??

You might try taking it apart and replacing the bungee with a newer,
slightly smaller one.  They get worn out and very spongy resulting in poor

Try the DX Deadzone Utility found here:
http://www.wingmanteam.com/Latest_Software/Gadgets/gadgets.htm
It's for wingman controllers but is known to work with a lot of directX
controllers.
->snip
DXDeadZone allows you to change deadzone settings of a DirectInput game
controller.  This utility works with Windows 98, 98SE, Me, and 2000.
->
Hope it helps.

Well you can try all the previous suggestions but mine (as a former Charger
owner) would be to toss the wheel in the garbage and get a decent one. I
went through two of them in a month (the first one was bad out of the box)
and finally gave up and bought a LWFF.

I snapped the bungie on two Chargers in a row, so I got a Nascar Pro
Digital. Much better, and the petals feel better, too (though I miss
the petals on my F1 T2 the most :) ).
