Has anyone had a "breakdown" in ICR2 yet?  Do they only happen in
championship race?

Thanks,

Andy

They happen in single race and multiplayer race as well, but only in the
Race session, and only very infrequently.

1) yes -- electrics went out during a yellow just before the drop of the
   green.
2) No -- I haven't tried the championship series yet -- They still won't
give me my yellow rookie stripe.  I'm surprised the team owner still
lets me race.  I've totalled more cars than a decade of CART racing.

I hope you are aware that random breakdowns can be turned OFF ?
The random breakdowns option only affects the human player, the
AI have them all the time. :)

The engine just died.  I just coasted into the pits.  Hoping against
hope that my excellent pit crew could get it fixed.  No such luck!  I
threw my helmet in disgust and pressed "A" = DNF.

Halfshalf breakdown for me! I was in 4th with about 27 laps to go gettin
ready for a pit stop when WHHHAAAAAAA-------------------nothing! A red
message flashed on my screen and I pulled into the pits and my crew just
looked at me! oh well.

I had my electrical systems failed once too. However, I wasn't in
a champ season race. It was weird, I kissed the wall at Michigan
right before turn one and all of a sudden the message prompt:
electrical system failure. My engine simply die and my dash also
went blank!

I coasted down all the way to the straightaway after turn two and
finally stop on the grass area. Good thing it is just a game.
Otherwise, it would've been a long walk back to the pit!

This brings up an interesting question, are the breakdowns completely
random, or are they due to driver error?

Is it possible to have the crew fix the damage?  Can they replace the
'black box' or do other minor repairs or do you just automatically DNF
because of a failure?

PS - If your crew can't fix it, then add that to ICR3!!
