Oh.........***.

I found GPL hard enough in the dry.

Looks like I'd better think up some more excuses for when I totally wreck my
****ing car.

Can picture my mechanic being seriously pissed.

Those pictures still show that some textures will be kept non-aliased (trees
are a good example, as with some advertising).  Could this be helpful for 3d
cars in terms of rendering speed and framerate?

Partly it's for appearances, and perhaps sense of speed I imagine.  A lot of
Rally Championship textures were left in their "raw" state, I believe, as
the developers found it looked better.  Sometimes the filtering of a 3D card
makes things a little too washed out looking.

I'm affraid you will need a P-VIII 3000mhz too... remember the SVGA
screenshots of GP2, and how it actually run on your pc?
It looks fantastic indeed, I'm just being very cautius here... never
trust screenshots!

I noticed that too, and there were even more raw textures on the
previous shots. As you noticed, they are kept mostly for trees, simply
because the leaves seem much more realistic looking than when bilinearly
filtered. Otherwise you would see the trees gently going from solid to
transparent at the edges, giving them a rather strange appearance. On
modern 3D cards bilinear filtering really doesn't have any substantial
performance effect.

So what?
GPL is based on the 1967 season with the Eagle team and NO McLaren (apart
from the bloke driving the car, that is!)

Yeah, I know that, at persent GP2 still only recommends 23 fps on my new
upgraded PC....
But hell, if its quality stuff then what can you expect, don't get me
started on GPL again!

blurred trees? Hell no!
You can't have blurred trees!
