I can't figure why GP2 has been released in Germany & Holland before the
UK.
Don't get me wrong, good luck to them but why couldn't MPS release
it here in the UK at the same time, after all the game was writen by an
Englishman after all.

Local gamestore person said that F1GP2 was originally due to be
released in Germany as a "test" to see how well it went down but
presumably the whole release thing dragged on so the releases were
(will be) almost at the same time?

Payback for the Treaty of Versaille? No, all sides are finally pretty
much even on that score. Let's see... Geoffrey von Crammondstein? No,
not that either...

I just don't know, it is sort of surprising, especially since I sense
a great deal of (rightful) British pride in the product. Maybe CD
printing is faster in Deutschland, maybe the German manual is much
shorter than the English one. Who knows. I still don't quite accept it
is really out anywhere, but my god, there are sure a lot of threads
devoted to this idea.

I still think GP2 will turn out to be a giant Java applet built around
the Wacky Wheels graphics engine. Brace yourselves.

Germany has a much bigger market for software than the UK. The US market
is MUCH bigger, but there are pretty few F1-fans. So germany is
more important for MicroProse than other countries.

You will see the same, when Westwood will release Red Alert -
first USA and germany, than step by step the rest of the world.

When will GP2 come out in Poland?

Test? With 300,000 copies pre-ordered they need to test?

Payback for Silverstone '95 ? :-)))

There are two manuals inside the german package - a thick one (~50 pages)
with many photos in colour. There are chapters explaining the usage of the
program and every single track (SimRacingNews won't need to much GP2 track
guides :-). It is fully in german and the best manual I've seen for a long
time !!
The second one is very thin (~15 pages) and has an errata for the first one,
some more hints and graphs of all the tracks in b/w.
The CD isn't printed in germany, its label just says - german version.
I guess it's manufactured in the UK.

:-)))
In case your right, the wacky wheels engine is hidden -very- good.

Or could it be, when it comes to Formula 1, it looks like the Gremans won't
be getting too many other "firsts" this season???

Only 50 pages? The "Finnish" version (only the cover box ad blurb is in
Finnish ;) has ~160 pages manual in English. I agree that it's the best
manual I've ever seen, printed on a shiny expensive paper and lots of
great photos. The only irritating thing about the manual is that it's
written by somebody who doesn't know how to spell...or what it this
team Benneton or driver Mika Hakinnen ;-)

That technical supplement is 28 pages in English.

BTW, the cover box text says that it has modem and *network* game
support, I wonder where the latter is hidden  8-)

Actually it's allready out in Finland with English manual. So manual is
not the reason for delay.

If you "First Wolders" are worried about why Germany, just think about
me: I live in RIO DE JANEIRO (BRAZIL)... When the game gets here I'll be
tired of reading how it is :((

Sorry, I wrote this not being at home and I had spent _very_ little time on
the _manuals_ :-)
German manual has 154 coloured pages, the supplement 27.
And the team is spelled Benetton and the driver Hakkinen :-)

Rumors say that it's hidden in some yet to come and pay update :-(

Yep, it is the F1GP2 UK version, 1.0B. I really don't understand why
it's not released in the UK yet.

If you're so tired of it that you don't want to play it any more, you could send
your copy to ME, here in Belgium  :-)
