<<
Are any of the "Fast" guys using FF? Or are you sticking with the traditional.>>

I'm sure there are....I'm not the fastest but in N3 I can usually hang towards the front. Up until about a week or so ago I thought FF was on the gimmicky side, but curiosity got  the better of me I guess. All I can say is I like it. Takes some getting used to though, but once you do you'll be just as fast.

<<Is FF more like "eye candy" for your hands.>>

Well.........yeah, but everyone like candy right?

<<Has anyone had their laps times improve because of FF? stay the same? or gone slower?>>

Bout the same, but I've not spent a great deal of time in N3

Kevin,

I got the Saitek FF wheel. It uses the same technology as the Microsoft wheel. I got a refurb for 79 bucks of www.saitekusa.com.  I will be the first to tell you.. at some tracks I am slower with it.  BUT, after playing N1, N2, N1999, and now N3. It added new life to a tired game.  You don't know what loose is until you get a FF wheel.  And a push as well... it really makes you drive the car.  So, for 80 bucks, I am really enjoying it.  Also, GPL is MUCH better with FF.  I saw no CPU impact or frame rate hit due to the FF.
