GPL: Lockup Trying To Connect to MPlayer

Has anyone experienced machine lockups when connecting to a multiplayer GPL
game? Up until now I've had no lockups and I've been able to connect to
mplayer games with no problem. I'm using GPL SPy Boy 1.1.0.13 and tonight I
tried connecting to a series game which locked my machine up at the GPL
Join/Host screen every time. I would usually get a few seconds of normal
behavior and then the machine completely froze requiring a cold-boot.

I know there are frequent disconnect issues but what about the freezing?
Anyone had the same thing? Any ideas on how to avoid?

Mark....

I'm getting the same thing....started this last Friday night......so bad over
the weekend it "hosed" my gpl.exe.....kept getting "This Program Has Performed
an Illegal....etc."   Had to uninstall GPL, reinstall and all the
"patches"....over 2 hours......three times this weekend~!

I think I'm done with Spyboy until the "patch" is released.........

I have been having a similar problem too.  Tho it makesno difference if I
am using spyboy or not since i tired it without it.  My problem was my pc
upgrade and a winmodem that is causeing the problem.
