GP3 and Intel 815E chipset

Is there a workaround or patch for GP3 to allow it to work when using a
motherboard with Intel's 815E chipset? Intel documents the problem on their
website. Seems that a number of games wont run with the new 815 chipset.

The official patch from Microprose/hasbro does not address the 815 problem.

Any ideas?

THX!

I have an Asus CUSL2 mobo which uses the 815 chipset and I have had no
problems with any sim or GP3.

Have you downloaded Intel's chipset drivers for the 815 chipset? Windows 98
loads generic chipset/mobo resource drivers. Because the chipset is newer
than 98 and 98SE, the drivers need to be loaded.

Thanks for responding... this is driving me crazy!

I'm using Windows ME.  I just left it alone to install the mobo.  I haven't
installed any other driver.

Thanks for the reply Phil... I am not sure if ME comes with 815 drivers.

You can check by going to My Computer> Device manager > Veiw by Connection >
PCI Bus.

If Intel 815 drivers are used you will see Intel 84815 or something like
that for PCI Bus Mastering and things like that.

Let me know if you get a chance.

Thanks
