first of all, I'd like to THANK Papyrus for the huge readme file that
explains all
the patch covered.  Nothing I hate worse than to get a patch and not know
what
it accomplishes....MGI with  Nascar Heat also had a thorough file and I hope
this is
a trend that continues.
2nd...Just ran a NO pace lap at Marty..one of the biggest bugs...pace car
got off
immeadiately and we began right away..thats an attaboy right there.
Next the traffic...dodged in and out got up to the front(low AI settings
got nosed into the wall by a lapper.  the leaders all got by without
clobbering me...
but as I began getting squirelly while shifting through the gears I crossed
lanes and got
nudged...AS IT SHOULD BE.   Several laps later a big pileup caused me to be
broadside in the middle of the track, SMOKE everywhere and YES I got hit a
few times.  But once again, As it should be.  While getting under way
finally, I used the middle lane and cars went zooming by on the left and
right....
I'd say based on a very quick and CURSORY look so far...the racing issues
have been
addressed.   I'm sure as we dig through the patch's performance we will find
more issues,
but my first impression is they have done good.
The timing of course is LOUSY...here I've had plenty of excuses to
work/play with
the CART Heat patch and such...now dog-gonnit...I've got another sim to pull
me in 13 different directions...

K, I've been enjoying your posts for some time now, Mr. Henrie, but I
have to ask, are your line lengths set to some weird number? All your
lines wrap around, then there is a hard return about 1/3 through the next
line. Makes a mess of your messages. I thought it was Gravity, but I
loaded up Outlook Express and it mangles your messages too. It happens
with a few other peoples posts, but yours are the ones I notice most (you
post a lot, and your posts are a good read).

Just askin'. I don't know, maybe it's my configuration. Any newsreader
gurus around?

Heck I don't know!  I just hit reply and a window opens up.  Sometimes
(like right here) I use a hard return and others I just type away...
What setting should I be messing with...and yes it's OE5.5.4522.1200.
I Used to have Netscape but that would lock up everyday...I suspect
MS added a few lines in win98SE to mess with the Netscapers.
  Anyhoo....sorry it's tough to read...usuallly it's just my fractured
syntax that makes life difficult.

Dave,
Do you have to start your championship season over after installing
the patch?

Can't answer that for ya George.  I gave up on offline racing with N4
after only a few attempts.  I wouldn't be suprised tho...with so many
substantial changes, the Championship 'could' easily be
affected.(effected??)
anyone tried to continue a season yet?

Just tried it.  Seems ok since it loaded the track up.  Didn't try
driving though but if you can get this far, I would assume all is well.

At least I could continue a championship, which had stopped at
Martinsville, because of short start and mad pace car. Now it
was ok. I did not check the points because I do not totally
understand the point system...  ;)

I have successfully continued a season that was stuck at Martinsville due to
the short pace lap bug.

Thanks, I'm up to speed with the Cup schedule, at Fontana running 50%
with BGN cars. I sure didn't want to start over...

although if I had to, Martinsville would probably be more fun than a
bunch of cautions!
