So what am I missing ?
Thanks!

I don't know if the following is the reason for your problem, but i once
got a very similar error message from a different game and missing disk
space on my hard disk turned out to be responsible for it. I had to free
up disk space until there were about 70MB available to be able to start
the other game without these "unable to load blabla" messages. So maybe
the 3dfx version of nascar 2 needs more disk space to start up ?
Even if the hard disk where you installed it has enough disk you should
check if there is enough disk space on the hard disk where your temp
directory (e.g. c:\windows\temp) resides because the game might want to
allocate disk space in this directory.
But i really don't know if this applies to your problem, so maybe you
should wait for other replies before considering to erase files which
you would rather like to keep...
you need to add your two glide files from your video card into your n2 dir
for it to work.

I'm wondering, would this work for Monster Truck Madness 2 as well?
Think I tried it already, can't remember.
Seems when I try to run MTM2 in 3DFX mode, it looks like it's trying to run
in 800x600 lines, but I don't think my monitor supports this resolution.
(It's a 14" VGA color Pukard Bell) .... When I run it in D3D mode, it looks
and runs fine, although, I still get the occasional 'pausing' in the game,
same as Quake 2.
Yes, I've installed the 'full' installs of both these games on my hard drive
too.
