Hi all!

I need some help from you guys. I am one of those who hasn't developed
my own setups. (lazy, yes i know). Instead I use the fast guys ones. I
now have a few questions:
1. - Is tire wear present in GPL? (I guess it is since everything else
that is IRL is.)
2. - How fast will this have an effect. Do I need to go long races
before this is an issue?
3. - On what tracks is this important?
4. - What do I change in my setups to compensate?
5. - What tire temperatures is ok?
6. - Must the tire temperatures be "excatly" the same on all tires?
7. - Does locking up the tires at breaking have a very negative effect?

I am currently using WW's setups (version 1.0) for the Ferrari and
sometimes also in the Lotus.

A lot of questions I know but I would really appretiate answers.

No. Tyres were very hard and lasted for multiple races, as explained
elsewhere.

all, see 1.

I believe the most grip is avaliable in the 90-120 degrees Celsius. More
than 140 is definately overheating, and cause you to lose grip. Happens
especially at the rear end. I would rather have slightly undercooled tyres
than overheated one, personally, find them more predictable than the heated
ones.

This won't never happen all around the track. After a lefthander, the
rightside tyres are hotter than after a righthanderhander. It just depends
where you measure it. It depends on the circuit as well; on Monza it's
probably unavoidable to run higher on the leftside, due to the
righthand-nature of the track.
A difference too big can cause problems though, see below. But I think ~10
degrees difference is no real problem, unless one of the tyretemps comes in
the "overheated" zone.

Yes. It heates the tyres, but that's only a minor problem compared to the
longer brake-distance you will get. Try to prevent the tyres from locking.
Also accelerating with wheelspin is bad, especially when one reartyre
brakes looke and spins, while the other has grip (happens a lot to me on
Silverstone). The spinning wheel heates up very quickly. Then you have
uneven tyre temps which is very unpredictable and hard to control.

No.

Depends on your driving style/skill...

No. Too hot tires will lose grip. Too cold tires will not have enough
grip. You want a temperature between those 2 values.

Yes. It will increase the tire temperature and the braking distance
will be longer. You also can't steer.

No tire wear I think, but it seems that they do warm up after a few laps to
get the best grip. Like it takes me about 4 laps on Monza to get the tires
at max grip. Anybody else notice this?

Mmm, interesting.  I've always concentrated on getting the PSI at about
24 - 25 for all tyres, regardless of what the temperatures are showing.
I've done this based upon info from Nunnini's web site.  So, where
should more emphasis be placed?  On the overall tyre temperatures or the
overall tyre PSIs?  What do you guys reckon?
