Sierra N3 Beta Board Down?

Sierra N3 Beta Board Down?

I only see posts up to Friday April 7th.  Is there a problem with the
message board.  I posted a message yesterday, I got the appropriate message
that said the message was added successfully.  But it never appeared on the
board, no matter how many times I refreshed the page, or the frame.

Hey it's the weekend. You don't think they are gonna leave it turned on for
us to run amuck unsupervised do yah' :-) Especially considering the state of
mind of a vast many over this whole truck deal. They'd have a 1000 "why's my
warez truck pack not working" posts today. LOL

On a more serious note I guess they'll plug it back in sometime soon. This
has happened more frequently than not in the past and I believe they aren't
quite finished with patch development just yet.
At least I hope not anyway. This latest one is pretty good so far for me but
as with most anything of this nature there is still some room for
improvement.

Thanks Racer88,

So we can still "Post" a message over the weekends, but just not read them?

Yeah I _think_ so. I kind of drift in and out of checking that board on any
kind of regular basis. In the past though I have noticed that when it is
like it is now that shortly after the weekend is over it will come back to
life. If I remember correctly it seems that some posts dated from the time
it was "down" would be there too. Don't take that as the gospel though.
One thing you could do is write up your post in notepad and when you see it
working again then just cut and paste it into the posting form. That can
save a lot of retyping especially if you have a longer message to send in
and something were to fail in the posting process. :)

I posted a complimentary message to Papy on that board (N3 beta) the other
day - something along the lines "Great job, you've gone above and beyond the
call of duty with N3..."

They deleted my post because it was off topic.

I've corresponded with a few individuals at Papy including Randy Cassidy,
Dave Matson, and Grant Reeve, and they've all been very nice.  Behaviour
like what I saw on that board gave me the impression that it is being
moderated by someone with a chip on his shoulder...

Well, they are trying to keep all the off-topic posts off the board because
it has gotten pretty messy on there.

If they delete a message where someone is asking how to paint a car, or
complaining about their ISP, they have to be fair and also delete yours.
Even if it was one they liked to read.

I will just be glad when this whole beta thing is over

The idea is to be as unbiased as possible to keep people from
complaining (more than they already do) that we allow off topic
complimentary posts but at the same time delete other off topic posts
including those that are critical of the game, patch, company, or
whatever.  It's nothing personal, but hopefully you understand that we
can't have the double standard.
