Rally Championship 99

Hi,

Anyone know of a site with more information on this game ?

Some screen shots are on this months PC Gamer. Incredible is not the
word. The car detail (Corolla WRC) and 16-bit textures make Colin
McRae look almost Cartoony in appearance.

Check out the Mag now !

Jason,

It's another Magnetic Fields, Europress offering (based on the British Rally
Championship).

Don't know about MAgnetic Fields, but Europress is www.europress.com? or
co.uk.

co.uk  ;-)

Isn't this Tommi Makinen Rally ?  Wasn't this title already out on the
Playstation early this year ?

I know that Europress has bought a license from the FIM (for a Motocross
World Championship game). It's the only new news I've heard.. any PR about
RC99 ?

They just finished an absolutely horrible rally game for the Playstation
that came out at the same time as CMR.  Hopefully they've improved the
physics a lot from the previous IRC and RAC games.  Coming screeching to a
halt 5 times quicker just by throwing the car sideways was a real glaring
fault, as was the lack of trailing throttle oversteer, the invisible walls
everywhere, the dismal collision routines etc. etc.  Beware, it was pretty
to look at, but a sim it wasn't.  Don't be fooled by the box art on this
one either.

Francois,

i think Tommi Makinen was PSX-only, and based on the International Rally Champ
for PC- ? :)

Rally 99 according to Ultamite PC which arrived on my desk this afternoon is
based on 6 rallys from the British Rally Championship.
It maybe Dual format, but that is not mentioned.

hmm, but some of the effects are quite arcade racer, according to what i'm
reading now. (don't ask me to type it out... i'm too ***y tired) maybe
tomorrow.
