Anybody else's screen go black after SCGT?

It worked fine before, but now when I exit SCGT I just get a black
screen & have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it. Hadn't played for a
while, but in the interim I have since installed DirectX 7  and the
Soundblaster live ware 3 (got rid of the creative lancher to clear
things up for GPL). Thought it might have been a corrupted firl with all
the hackin I do to SCGT so I re-installed & tried it with no patches...
Still no luck. Voodoo3 3000 btw... Anyone else with a similar prob that
might have it all figgered out?
