I would like it if anyone with the know-how would go poking around in their
code. I know they had visual damage working and had to take it out, but no one
has confirmed whether or not the code is still in there.

Careful, you might find Max Mosely breathing down your neck!  Wasn't
Benetton quasi-accused of doing this in 1994 with their traction-control?
