It must be, because I'm running V3 and have the 1024 x 768 rez available.

OK, thx. I guess it doesn't really matter because I see most of the
add-on dash's are only in 640x480 and 800x600. One last question sort
of related to SCGT. I thought I would try some of the add-ons with the
demo to see if they would work until I get the full game, only the
add-on dash's work so far. I tried this file named
FerrariF399-SchumacherSCGT(Version2_0).exe. Has it's own
installer/uninstaller. It didn't work so I ran the uninstaller, it ran
some commands and the last one was something about rebooting.
I did reboot my computer at some point during the evening and saw that
it was changing system something or other. When I got into windows I
had no mouse and generic vid drivers loaded! Had to restore my
registry from a previous version to fix it. I had tried a few files
for SCGT that evening, but this is the only one that had an
uninstaller and that's why I supect it was the culprit. I do run a
virus check on all files I download and it was clean. Just wondering
if you or anyone else that plays SCGT have run into a similar problem
with this or any other file for SCGT?

just about ANY add-on for SCGT is for the full game.  There are
about 5 quick fixes for the demo, and thats about it...I'd recomend
against trying to get any of the full game utils working with the demo.
glad you were able to get things backed up.

spoke:

I didn't do any backing up. :-)
Win98 backs up the registry for you daily. You just type scanreg in
dos and choose which reg backup you want to restore. I picked up a
copy of SCGT cdrom calssic edition today for $16.00 CDN so I have the
full version now. Already added a few cars, dash's and better sounds.
Think I'll stay away from that schumacher file though. :-)

I haven't downloaded this file, Nos, so I'm afraid that I can't advise on
that one.

Well I tried a few files so can't be sure it was that one. But, I
think that's the only one I installed that had an
installer/uninstaller. Don't really need an F1 car in a GT sim anyway.

I've had no problem installing and uninstalling the F1 cars. I did have a
problem with the cars becoming transparent, though. This is most likely due
to the cheap video card I have in my PC (nVidea Riva 128).

OK, I'll try it again and cross my fingers. I used to have a Riva 128.
Graphics problems are commen with that card. It has a limited set of
3D features that it supports. I would buy a V3 2000 (about $85.00
U.S.) if you are looking for a cheap and good upgrade.
