More vintage cars for SCGT?

by Stephen Ferguso » Thu, 01 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I was wondering if anyone has made any more older cars for SCGT.  It seems
there is a motley assortment of cars out there; just enough to drool a
little, not enough to make a full field.  So far I have found:

A McLaren and a Porsche Can-Am car.  Nice... not really my thing, though.

A Ferrari 250.  I would love to see some other competition for this car.  An
Aston and a Jag would be fun.

A Porsche Spyder.  It's a bit lonely, isn't it?

A Lotus Cortina and a Boss 302 Mustang.  Now we're talking.  Proper road
cars squirming around the track.  I would dearly love to see a few extra
cars to fill out a proper "vintage" field.  Here's my wish list:

1. A vintage 911.  Shave the flares and wings off a current 911 and tweak
the headlights, textures and wheels to make it a late 60s 911. (While
someone's at it, why not make a '73 RSR for a spec race?)
2. An Alfa Guilia
3. A Mini Cooper
4. A generic Detroit sedan (e.g. Ford Galaxy)
5. A generic British roadster (e.g. Austin Healy)

I have neither the software nor the talent to accomplish this.  I merely
throw it out as a suggestion, just in case some insanely talented person is
sitting with time on his/her hands and lacks a moment of inspiration.

More vintage cars for SCGT?

Tell me about it.

I love this "big iron."  The discovery of Pat Painter's McLaren is the only
thing that kept SCGT on my hard drive at one point. But where are the Lolas
and other assorted beasties to go with it? By the way, where on earth did
you find the Porsche? I havn't seen that one.

Yessir.

A Ferrari Dino at least is needed to keep this one company. A Maserati and
an OSCA would also go nicely.

The Cortina' raced by themselves. Mostly in original paint jobs with only
the numbers to identify them. Paste the numbers 1 through 16  on one and
you've got a full field. Woudn't take the original author that long, I'd
love to see this.
There was a Mini Cooper out there in the process of being made. Havn't seen
a finished product yet.

At the very least  the Mustang needs its stablemate and a couple of Penske
Camaros to go with them. There is a Camaro out there. It shouldn't take
someone who knows what they are doing too long to convert it to Trans Am
livery.

I wish that JH would finish the 917, and do a 512 to go with it. Combine
this with the vintage 911, throw in a classic Corvette, and you've got half
the '70 Le Mans field covered right there, with appropriate paint jobs and
numbers.

I wouldn't mind a D Jag, and a Merc to go with it.  Throw in a 356 and that
Austin Healy and you've got the '55 Le Mans field half covered

Ditto. Shall we keep our fingers crossed and pray?
