My God is Cart PR a piece of total crap. I have a 233mhz pentium MMX with a Diamond Stealth 2, and the
only thing I feel like I am racing in CPR is the popup scenary !! What a joke !!! This does not even hold a
candle to Rendition Indy Car II, or should I say Rendition Cart Racing by Sierra.

And it's too bad because the game has so many great features, like two day
qualifying and the whole engineer and garage area is just really interesting
as is the racing school and the footage of each track with Bobby Rahal
narrarating(which I can't even get to run, I think it's a directX problem?).
But if a pentium 233 won't cut it then there is just no excuse from the
manufacturer, especially when they list the minimum requirements on the box
as p60. This game still needs a lot of work, and I doubt 1 patch will do
it.
problem?).
Had the same problem with sound in the videos (see other post). After
screwing around with it I found that a right "click" after selecting the
video produces a context menu with "stop" and "play."
By stopping the video and the selecting play again, the audio played without
a glitch. Hope that helps.
Well I've only just looked at the readme file in the CPR demo
folder, but it does mention keypresses to both extend the view(and
lessen popup) or shorten it and speed the framerate.
Cntrl-h and Cntrl-F I think and the [ ] to shrink or expand the
window.... Try those and see if it helps.

I manage to run this with a 166mmx,32mb ram and a diamond monster 3dfx card -
no problems-like f1GP2-something has to give, and this is the detail and some of
the superfluous (oooer!!) extras in the game-I like it and it runs absolutely
smooth as silk on my set up.
Well whatever. The net result it that the framerate will suck if you
move the distance out.

Your problem is due to your Stealth 2 drivers.
