Follow this link to a petition for the option of assigned cars in the
hawaii service.  The producers of hawaii need to hear from people.
Allowing assigned cars in user-created series will enhance the driving
experience for everyone.

This is stupid. What if you and I are assigned the same car? We can't
race together? Get real. If you don't like what Papyrun is doing, do
use it. Simple.

The purpose of assigning cars is that no two drivers would drive the
same car and every driver would be in the same car everytime they joined
a user-created series race (not pickup, not NRL).  We're asking for a
little personalization in hawaii that Papyrus has opted to leave out.
They have a legitimate reason for leaving it out of NRL.  I agree with
them on that fact, however, there are still drivers out there that are
looking for something more.  You have offline racing where you drive the
same car every week but not against real drivers.  You have hawaii where
you drive against real drivers but not the same car.

Excuse me David but this is getting old.I think it would be nice to see
the same driver in the same car week after week  and so on, but me not
being that much of a computer Genious could you explain something to
me.How in the world would they be able to come up with lets say 20,000
plus assigned cars for everyone to have a different car.I might be way off
base but when NSR2 comes out everyone who buys it will have the
opprotunity to join the NRL so my guesstimite might be Low.I think the way
things are is fine just use your F2 key and you will always no who is
around you at all times and what car they are in . Just my $.015 worth

Look its real easy.
1.  have a page pop up with all the car numbers like a catologe.
2.  before a driver is allowed to enter a race he is allowed to pick the
car number he wants to drive in.
3.  let it go in order of skill level.
4.  user created leagues can make there own carset so they will know what
cars they will be driving.  in that case we wont be fighting over who has
what car.
5. i already thought of idea well why dont we just sign in in same order
each week.  we cant not everyone shows up each and every week.
its possible for papyrus to do this i mean look they measure tire temps
cons. i think that is alot harder than this.  i guess its just the case
of nascar monopilizing the *** world too. it seems papyrus listened
too our ideas more when nascar was not a part of it.  no offence Ed your
doing a gret job.  sorry if you have to read another message about this
subject.  btw how is the petition sheet doing?

David - you don't need a petition for my sake, we're sold on the need to
get assigned cars for Hawaii drivers at the earliest possible time.  The
only problem at this point is priorities - there's the issue of making the
service into a viable commercial service (IE - cost less for you than long
distance, bring some revenue in to Papyrus); there's the issue of
supporting more than 128 concurrent users; there's the NASCAR II release;
there's the NRL.  You can rest assured that assigned cars will be in there
as soon as it is practically possible, though it isn't practically possible
right now and no amount of additional user feedback can change that
(because we've already got the message).

Shouldn't we actually be worrying about the more important aspects of
the simulation?  Like getting the hat guy into the victory lane shots
for the interview session?

Just kidding David, this idea still had merit, just needs a really
good implementation method.

Mike,

Think about Night Owls races. Wouldn't it be nice if you got to race in
your car every week and you could see me in mine? Papyrus are saying now
that is impossible with the production version of Hawaii.

In NRL, you will be racing against a different bunch of drivers in EVERY
race. Half the battle of running a clean race is learning the driving
quirks of each driver. Think about having to do that for every race.
Personally, I would prefer to race against the same drivers for a season.

I will probably participate in the NRL if the costs are reasonable. But my
first choice will still be a closed league of drivers that race together
every week.

Ohh....Now that makes sence (tail between legs). David M....I can now
see your point. Makes sence, but I don't think a petition will change
their minds. But I now see your point, and appologize for calling your
idea stupid.

David S....Yes it would be fun to race with you, why don't you slow
down a little, so I can?? ;) HAHA

I agree,
I spent 10 hours this weekend then came to my sences " This is a L O N G distance
phone call. I also agree that racing against the same drivers would be not only more
enjoyable but more competitive.

Something changed their mind, since Charlie said they plan to implement it,
and I think we have David Martin to thank for it.

David - I said we plan to do something with assigned cars _eventually_, but
unfortunately its a low priority item at present until we can crack a few
bigger nuts, and user feedback can't change the priorities at this time.
