I read in this newsgroup a couple of days ago that if you still do not
have a 3Dfx card (like me) then you might as well wait until the 2nd
generation 3Dfx chip cards come out. Could someone give me as much info
as possible about this? Or should I still just go out and get a
Monster3D?

You need two Voodoo 2 cards to achieve the so-called SLI mode. A voodoo1
will not work with another voodoo2 card that way.
not much info here, but.....
if you want/need a 3dfx right away the monster or orchid are a really
good price right now (and always dropping). if you can wait voodoo 2 is
going to blow away whats out right now. but, i have also read (to my
understanding) that you will be able to plug the new voodoo into your
old one so one does the even numbers one does the odd and then you will
be able to get double performance from both!!
