Do you actually like any car racing games? Or are you going through a dark
peroid in you're life and you see everything in the negative.

Perhaps it's time you visited the Room of Mirrors and took good hard look at
yourself. :-)

Nascar3, SCGT & F1 2000. I also liked ICR2, Indy 500, F1RS
and World Circuit and GP2. GPL was OK for a little while.

What I cannot stand is that GP3 still have all the flaws that
I eventually hated in GP2. I have stated this over and over
again.

But yes I am going through a dark time. When my achilles
tendon is mostly healed and I can wear shoes again, I'm
sure I will be much better. That should be around the
middle of august.

Oh and thanks for caring.

I agree Greg, GP3 is a poor, the graphics are ropey, the physics
un-involving, the sound bee_in_bottle like, FF is weak as a kitten and
the less said about multiplayer the better.

But some people still like it, and good luck to'em I say. You pays your
money and takes your choice. I didn't expect much from GP3 anyway, so
I'm not too fussed. But where did all those folks who said it was going
to be a GPL beater go? What happened to the guys who said the Warez was
a beta?

I'm sure some thought GP2.5 was going to be the dogs, and some of those
will still say it is, whether they believe it themselves or not.
I was talking to some guy on thursday night who said GP2_and_a_bit would
be a classic. Well surprise surprise, he's sticking to his guns, he
insists it's ***ing_fan_***ing_tastic and gets really angry if anyone
says different.

GP3 has become a love thing for him, he wanted it to be good so much,
that even reality won't get in the way of their love.

Its a case of each to his own.  I love it, as I loved gp2, but it aint
perfect.  F12000 ran too slowly on my pc, and the ai was too aggresive,
so I stopped playing it.  Shame because it had some great features.

I agree that gp3 is not what we all expected.  GP2 was so advanced at
the time, that we expected a proportional jump again, and it did not
happen.  It feels more like a tweaked gp2, with 3d card support.  But
the weather effects are stunning, and I love it.

However what is ridiculous is the controller setup, ***ing dreadful.
My msff pulls the the left, its just very poor, and to be honest if
this is not fixed soon, i will ask for my money back.

True. GP3 has again this DOS-like control menu. Its so frustrating.
The same game with control of the car like in NFS Porsche and faster
graphics would make a perfect *** experience for me.

Aggressive AI is the essence of modern F1. Namely if they crash
into you while you are attempting to overtake, it is obvious that
you could not attempt to pass at that spot.

At least that is what Prost said about Senna that year that Senna
attempted to pass Prost at Suzuka. Prost crashed him out and
promptly proclaimed "he should have know he could not pass me
there". What he forgot to add was "because I will crash into him
everytime". :-)

Schumacher does it all the time.

Also I have no problem with the AI in F1 2000 at all. Except
when all of them seem to spin out on one turn at hockenhiem.
In general though I rarely tangle with them. So I have no idea
what to think when someone complains about aggressive AI
in F1 2000.

Yet, you like N3 which has many of the flaws of N2? hmm... OK.

For online play yes. I never play the game with pacelap or
yellows or damage. For online play I find that this provides
the most fun, and will tack on a penalty for wrecking while
still allowing everyone to still be in the race.

If I were playing strictly offline and trying to use yellows and
cautions the game would totally suck.

You play without damage and yellows, yet come here to complain how unrealistic
GP3 is?

Yes. When I play N3 online it is to have fun. Kind of arcade type fun.

Plus don't put works in my mouth. I never said I did not like
GP3 because it wasn't realistic. Maybe you are referring to
where I said GP2 felt like it was on rails? Anyway, I said I
dislike it because they did not fix inherent flaws from GP2.
SloMo, lack of AI car sounds, total shit online play. ect...

You should try it with pacelap, yellows and damage ON, it's a lot
of fun when you get strategy involved. Of course, you have to first
find the right group of people to race with.... :)

And when do you race N3 online Pierre?  I can only recall a couple times ever
seeing you race with us online with N3... we miss you teammie! ;-)

Maybe we'll see you again when Heat and N4 come out?

Btw, I played a little GPL at the N3 LAN event in Allentown over the weekend.
Anyway, I've run more than a few laps in GPL since I've been home this
week... you could say I have a renewed interest in it now.  I just joined
GPLRank and added you to my Buddy list, but don't know when I'll have the
time/energy to practice all the tracks enough to submit my laps.  With my
recent re-install of GPL, I only have times on a few tracks and am learning
all over again.  Managed a 1:30.xx on Monza already, so not too far from the
elusive sub-1:30!  I'm dreading learning the 'Ring, but will tackle it
eventually.

Yeah, it's been a while... I miss the old TEN days. :)
N4 will definitely have me back racing with you guys, and NH most
probably will too (the previews look awesome!).

Cool! You'll be braking the 1:30 barrier soon enough. Have you
installed any 3rd party tracks, add-ons and utils? There's a lot
of great stuff available out there, I can send you links to where
to get it all, if you like.
