GTR Alpha Demo Problem/Question

GTR Alpha Demo Problem/Question

by Wayne Stell » Thu, 27 May 2004 21:12:15

I just downloaded the GTR Alpha Demo and am looking forward to driving it.
I must say, the car graphics and surface texture of the Lister are the most
incredible I have ever seen in a sim.  The reflections and highlights are
outstanding IMHO!  But enough of that, to the question.

There is apparently no controller selection for he Rev Limiter in the menu
and I'm unable to turn the rev limiter off after leaving the pits.  Is there
a patch out to address this?  Anyone have any ideas?

Much appreciated.

no patch needed.  The default pit lane key is L but if you loaded up
a wheel configuration, then that may change.  Go to your controller
screens and look at the keyboard/button assignments.  You'll find the pit
lane button or key listed there.

The default key is (sometimes) L
(I say sometimes because some have reported having a different key set
as default)

There *is* a controller selection for the Rev Limiter, under
'Accessories', however it is *very* easy to miss the fact that there is
a scrollbar on the right hand side.

Yup - mine did not default to "L" and I had the same issue at first until I
realized you had to scroll down to find the assignment for the speed
limiter.

Mine defaulted to a button on the wheel, but most people miss the scroll bar
in setup.

Good example of the truly awful GUI layout & feel of the ISI-engined games.
Those Simbin guys should really hire a decent UI designer...
