You aren't kidding about that, hehe. I own both games and found a converter
to bring the old Riverside over to N3 to race on with the N3 cars. It's a
fun track, but my N3 car feels just like the NL cars, lol, almost no
difference in feel. I would have thought the modern day cars could hold the
track better than the 1970 cars, hehe. It was like driving on ice, and while
i'm struggling to keep my "lead-sled" of a modern day cup car on the paved
part of the track, the AI is putting out record laps each time out, lol. But
yeah, had to do with game settings in that file, i know what some of the
numbers do, but I don't feel confident enough, or knowledgeable enough, to
make the changes myself. I've never driven a Winston Cup car myself, lol, so
I can't say how it will, or won't, handle on a specific track or condition.
I can basically guesstimate, based on running the Glen and Sears Point alot,
those 2 make my car feel like it's glued to the track compared to the
converted Riverside, hehe.
Yeah, I'd rather have the Papy NL Daytona, rather than trying to compete
using a 1970 car and the AI running 1999/2000 cars. (One of the numbers in
the files tells the AI how fast to run on a certain percentage, say like if
you set the AI to run 100%, then they will turn laps at a given speed. If
you set it to 95%, they'll run at another given speed based on the formula
it uses, which is  based on info in the track.txt files, which is why the AI
was blowing you off the track while you're struggling to keep your car in
the groove, hehe. Also, these numbers, if it's an N3 track, will base it on
what a 1999/2000 car would do, not what the 1970 cars would do.) I could be
wrong about all this, but I have specifically seen a scale entry in some
tracks that relate to how the AI run on the tracks, how fast their lap times
are, and it could also relate to the AI info in the "records.txt" file too.
Uses either one, or both, of these to give the overall AI performance on the
track.

I realize all the legal powerplays etc, but sometimes I think they go a just
*tad* off the deep end sometimes, lol. So follow this humor some....just
humor, lol.....

What I wanna know, is what does the TRACK have to say about all of this? I'm
sure he/she/it doesn't like being exploited for money. Does International
Speedway Corporation pay the Daytona track for the use of it's identity,
it's likeness, it's nicely paved surface? I think the "track" should get
paid. As it stands, the track itself is the one getting ripped off. It's
nice, some would call it beautiful, georgous, pretty, a wonderful surface to
race on, etc, etc. But yet they don't pay the *track* a penny. I'm in favor
of them putting a vault in the middle of the infield, and for every dollar
they make off the track, they give the track a dollar in return. Hmm, they
would make no money. Ok, for every $2 they make, give the track $1. Still
making 100% profit off the track.

Ever wonder if some mega-company like Microsoft, or RJ Reynolds might one
day say "We've acquired the rights to Cindy Crawford. Anyone who dares
pirate her image, her likeness, creates clones, etc....will face the full
fury of our crony lawyers."

Then one day, Mrs C. Crawford forgets that she don't own her identity,
leaves her house to take a jog around the block. Suddenly, coming out of
turn four, errrr, coming around the corner down the street....she is
suddenly swarmed by a whorde of lawyers and photographers. "Ah hah Mrs
Crawford!! We caught you red-handed!! By showing yourself in public, you are
a pirate and a thief!! How dare you steal our imagine, our likeness!! Or are
you a clone? Where is your "cloner"?? Fess up Mrs Crawford, you got to pay
the Reaper now!!"  <Evil laughter in the background from whordes of lawyers
fixing to be richer than Bill Gates>

Somehow, I can imagine that being in a George Orwelle novel, lol. And
probably we are 10-20 years from that very thing.

Have fun laughing folks, couldn't resist interjecting a little humor, or
even make ya think, lol.

A thought struck me. (Ouch!)  Get this, and if I was a famous Nascar
racer, I would damn sure do it.  :o)

Fast forward to the near future... the year is 2001....

Headline: Daytona, Florida...Feb, 2001.....  "It has been learned today
that Dale Earnheardt has gone commercial. He has informed the owners of
Daytona International Speedway, that he deserves his "fair share" for
helping to bring in the droves of crazed fans. Mr. Earnhardt reportedly
wants $100,000 just to show up for the race, as his racing heritage...his
breeding and up-bringing...his past honors and glories....his skill and
prowess behind the wheel of the most powerful stock cars on the
planet.....all these combine to draw in the flocks of fans, of which, all of
their hard earned money, food stamps, etc...all that goes only to ISC, the
owners of DIS. We have attempted to contact ISC, but got an answering
machine.....but couldn't help notice hearing what sounded to be heated
discussions and legal wranglings in the background. Parts we picked up
were... "We're gonna...  sue.........  the ........ out of ....... who does
he think he is??......<beep> "Please leave a message after the tone.""

Dateline: Feb, 2001...Daytona, FL..  It has been learned today that ISC is
suing nascar driver Dale Earnhardt for $600 GAZILLION. They say will never
stoop to being "one-upped" by a lowly grease monkey who drives a car. They
also say that should the said, Mr. Earnhardt, finish in the points, and in
the money, he will get no prize money for his efforts, as the fact that
RACING ON DAYTONA is a PRIVELIDGE and not a RIGHT. That it's he, who should
be fortunate they'll let someone of his poor abilities even participate in
their "grand" races. Just his pleasure of racing on the "legendary,
esteemed, world famous" Daytona track is PAYMENT ENOUGH.

This late word in...NASCAR, the governing body, their committee has let it
be known that Dale Earnhardt will recieve NO official points from the race
at Daytona. That his "John Rocker style" outburst upon the glorious ISC and
it's members was totally out of line and will not be tolerated.

This reporter can't help but be honest and point out one stunning
observation....the Nascar officials appearing at the press conference
appeared to be wearing horse riding pants...or could that be pockets lined
with money?? Hmmm.... errrr..... umm... that concludes the evening news.
<Background noises and a sudden "You're fired!!!", followed quickly be
commercial "Tide, it really gets your clothes clean!! Just ask ISC!!"

Hahahahha, now that is something I can very well see happening in the very
near future!!!! ROFLMAO

Copy your sears tire line in the txt file and paste it over your tire line
in riverside. Right now you are running on 1970 tire grip.
